When students have completed this unit in conjunction with the 3VI CD-ROM they will:

Understand the need for modification of the environment to enable people who are blind or vision impaired to participate actively in the community
Identify some of the design principles which make environments moreaccessible for people who are blind or vision impaired

Unit Nine Adapting Environments Class Audit

Class audit of classroom or other environment and suggestions for improvement.

Adapting Environments Excursion

Make a visit to a local organisation (eg library, pool etc) and assess how VI friendly they are. Make suggestions for improvement.

Unit Nine Adapting Environments Organisational Strategies

Write to or email a local organisation or business eg bus company, local council, library, zoo, shopping mall.
