RSB Braille Grant Scheme

This scheme is designed to foster and encourage the use of braille among the blind and vision impaired community by assisting people with the cost of braille equipment. The grant is not means tested and the maximum amount that a person can apply for is $1,500. Applications for this grant can be submitted in March, June, September and December.

Equipment Subsidy Scheme

This scheme is designed to increase access to adaptive technology equipment for people who are blind or visually impaired. The grant applies to items of equipment over $200 and the maximum subsidy available is half the cost of the item or $1,000. This grant is means tested and applications can be submitted in March, June, September and December.
